Turkey Frank Lasagna

ingredientes

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 package (16 ounces) FUD® Jumbo Turkey Franks, cut lengthwise in half, then sliced crosswise into ¼-inch pieces
  • 4½ cups marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1¾ cups ricotta cheese
  • 4 ounces FUD® Cotija Grated Cheese (1 cup)
  • ¼ cup FUD® Salvadorian Style Cream
  • 1¼ packages (8 ounces each) FUD® Oaxaca Cheese, shredded (2½ cups)

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook lasagna noodles as label directs.
  • In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add garlic and bell pepper; cook 2 minutes. Stir in basil, oregano, salt and pepper; cook 1 minute. Add franks; cook 3 minutes. Stir in marinara sauce; heat to a simmer and cook 3 minutes.
  • In medium bowl, stir egg, ricotta, Cotija cheese and cream.
  • In bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking dish, spread about 1 cup sauce mixture; top with 3 noodles, ¼ of the remaining sauce mixture, 1/3 cheese mixture and ½ cup Oaxaca cheese. Repeat 2 more layers of noodles, sauce mixture, cheese mixture and Oaxaca cheese. Top with remaining noodles, sauce mixture and 1 cup Oaxaca cheese.
  • Cover dish with foil. Bake 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake 25 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
